Hi there Ali, the painting that your talking about what doews it looked like? Does it looked like a 20 or 40 year old one? As far as I know there are a lot of Salomon painters. But here is one Salomon:Museum in New York was a collection of hundreds of tiny paintings, many with words inscribed below them and presented in the form of an illustrated operetta created by a young German-Jewish artist, Charlotte Salomon. The whole piece was hard to take in as one moved from each small image to the next, but judging from the present yet suppressed emotions of the crowd as we tried to absorb it, the young woman's cross-generic piece was incredibly moving; with drawn, concentrated faces and molasses slow steps, we tried to come to terms with the terrible weight of her miserable life. The play describes the Nazi takeover and ever-increasing restrictions and violence against Jews, the terrifying legacy of the suicide of her aunt, mother, grandmother, and other members of her family, and other devastation.

I think its silly to consider that you have a collection by owning one item.. I have found here a short description of a certain Charlotte Salomon's piece of work:
This image is by Charlotte Salomon, it came courtesy of Susan V Facknitz
who loves the work. The original conversation was about Sibyls and Oracles
and the work of engagement by post-holocaust writers and poets.
There are a few on the site, those would include:
Nelly Sachs, RB Kitaj, Leonard Baskin and Paul Celan- whose lives
works formed a critical engagement with the Shoah. The image on
the Sibyls page is of ‘The Matriarchs’ by Baskin, whose work on
Women , War and poetry inspired a generation of writers- not least
of whom was Sylvia Plath whose poem about his studio and
disembodiment is in The Collected Sylvia Plath, Faber and Faber.

I´m glad to have come upon this forum, I discovered Charlotte Salomon. I place her very high in the artistic spectrum, and her life is an example of high values. The Nazis have a dark historical debt with the world. I wonder what they gained from murdering so many valuable people. It will take centuries for Humanity to forget all of this. Cheers!
