Peru's history spans several millenia. From being home to the world's oldest civilisation, the Notre chivo and being conquered by the Spanish, it finally gained independence in 1821. It however consolidated a few years later after the battle of Ayacucho. The first Europeans to arrive in Peru were the Spaniards. I believe then that for a country that has been independent for that long, there has to be proof for this. How developed is the country?

Here is an introduction to the History of Peru:Peru is best known as the heart of the Inca empire, but it was home to many diverse indigenous cultures long before the Incas arrived. Although there is evidence of human habitation in Peru as long ago as the eighth millennium BC , there is little evidence of organized village life until about 2500 BC. It was at about this time that climatic changes in the coastal regions prompted Peru's early inhabitants to move toward the more fertile interior river valleys. • Page 1 (Original Post) •
