hi i am looking into the possibility of creating and designing a healing community, an arts and shamanic healing retreat centre, with HEALING TEMPLES, and would like some land to do this. many thanks.there needs to be enough land for the centre as it will need room to expand and also work with the local indigenous community. Also space for growing food.
I studied spatial theory for years, as an international artist and my back ground is healing, core shamanism, quero , breathwork and amazonian ceremonies, reiki yoga and sound healing
Any eco builders, architects, sponsors welcome, please contact me.

I'm pretty much interested in your proposal, how can I contact you. I would like to do the project for you that will benefit both of us. By the way I own a construction/ real estate developer firm. So what the deal?

I do not know what you would be able to get for 14000 USD per year. As of now the dollar is the lowest currency of money out there. If you were to move there with that much money in your pocket you would probably survive for 6 months. I would try and save lots of money to move there or make sure your GUARANTEED a job when you get there just to make sure your can afford it.

Hi Everyone, I am retired and receive $1800 per month. Can I survive in Iquitos on that income? How much is rent...approximately?
Food? What other expenses could one expect?

I am selling my property of 2, 2 hectares. It is located next to the road Iquitos/Nauta at kilometer 43, 5. It has pretty much fruittrees and some medicinal plants, there is water on the property, and has an (unfinished) wooden house on it. Since a few months it is possible to have electricity there. It has documents and is regstrated in the city of Iquitos in the registros publicos. If you are interested, please let me know, I will be in Iquitos from the 15th of July till September/Oktober. Roy

Fourteen thousand dollars every year could force you to find other ways to save in order to invest in either property or land. How about you make up your mind and decide which way you want to go? Do not at first limit yourself to some kind of price range..things could still turn out well for you.How about finding out the range of property or land in Peru?
Fourteen thousand United States dollars per year is a pretty harsh salary, especially for someone living the United States. I am not sure how that price range would fare with a resident of Peru, but it just may be enough to make ends meet. Acquiring a place at the price of a couple hundred per month is going to be a pretty hard bargain to find in Peru, I should think. Still, maybe not.

I want to share some info about IquitosIquitos was a village inhabited by the wild tribe called the "Iquitos" from whom the name was taken in the moment of its foundation in 1864. During the Spanish Colony and the gold fever caused by the legends of "El Dorado" (The Golden) and the "País de la Canela" (Country of the Cinnamon), Iquitos never had historical figuration. In 1883 began in this city the era and peak of the rubber, the exploitation of their latex and trade made that some reached immense fortunes, it brought the prosperity of the city and the construction of splendid houses began, some with tiles brought from Portugal.

Why don't you try to write to the TV programs? They take you overseas to search for properties. Just tell them what you're looking for. I am sure they have resources and sources to get the useful information. The best thing is you get to see it in person!

Nearly 2, 000 miles up-river from the mouth of the Amazon lies the jungle-locked city of Iquitos. Accessible only by boat or by plane Iquitos still displays evidence of the wealth created during the 'rubber boom' of the 1860's. Houses both near the main plaza and the river are still faced with the beautiful glazed tiles imported from Portugal along with many other European luxury goods.Check out the link below to read more

Wendy, I will definitely look for you at the mystery school of Amaru. I would love to work with you on this project. Shamanism is the one way to live our lives with any meaning and the perfect way to see holiness in everything we do.Iquitos, as you probably know, is at the center of a sacred triangle that touches on Macchu Picchu, the great Pyramids of Egypt and the Bermuda triangle.
Best wishes to all!

If you are making fourteen thousand US dollars per year, you would surely require a place that is priced somewhere between zero and about four hundred US dollars per month. I don't know how easy it would be for one to find such a nicely priced place, and in a good location, as well.

I am quite intrigue with this place. I am just wondering about the real estate condition there. Please provide me with some information. Thanks a lot.
Comment #23 Eve (63.176.159.63) - 12/14/09 12:55
That would surely be great info to have, the real estate condition, and what not. Still though, are we talking about prices, looks or what exactly, Missy?
